Tech Corner – April 2nd @ TBA

We are very excited to announce our inaugural “Tech Corner” in partnership with Chugiak High School! A group of students will be available to help you with basic tech issues with your phones, laptops, or other devices. Thank you, Chugiak Highschool!


Bingo Extravaganza! – April 14th & April 15th @ 1:30PM

Get ready for a fantastic afternoon of fun and games at either of our FREE Bingo event on March 10th hosted by the Eagle River Sleeping Lady Mountain Lions Club or by the Eagle River VFW on March 18th! Come out and enjoy great company, exciting prizes, and plenty of laughter.

Whether you’re a bingo pro or a first timer, everyone is welcome! Don’t miss out on the fun—mark your calendars and bring a friend!


AARP Tax Services – Wednesdays & Fridays from February 1st – April 12th from 10:00AM – 3:00PM

From February 1st-April 12th, AARP Tax Services is providing free tax help here in the Chugiak Senior Center every Wednesday and Saturday!

Just dial 2-1-1 and then leave your name and phone number. You will receive a call back to set up an appointment.


Thrift Store Shopping – April 18th @ 10:30AM

Thrift Store Shopping is BACK! Join CERSC as we head to town for our monthly thrift store run. Laughter and fun is always our main goal! We might also make a stop for ice cream, so you will want to sign up for this one!


Mobile Mammography – April 26th beginning @ 8:00AM

If you are a woman over 40 and due for your annual screen mammogram, give Providence Imaging Center a call at (907)-212-3151 to schedule this important 20-minute test. Please call to pre-register prior to your appointment.

Welcome to June at the Chugiak-Eagle River Senior Center! July is here, and with it comes a powerful reminder of the freedom we cherish and the independence that shapes our nation. As we celebrate Independence Day and the values it represents, it’s also a time to reflect on the freedoms we’ve earned and the paths we’ve traveled. For many of us, freedom means more than fireworks and flags—it’s about the ability to live with dignity, to make our own choices, and to share our stories with the next generation. You are part of that living history, and your experiences continue to inspire and strengthen our community here at CERSC. This month, let’s honor our past, enjoy our present, and embrace the freedom to live fully, love deeply, and laugh often. Wishing you a joyful and meaningful July!

Welcome to June at the Chugiak-Eagle River Senior Center! As we step into the summer season, longer days and warmer sunshine bring fresh energy and new opportunities to connect, grow, and celebrate our community. June is a time of blooming gardens, joyful gatherings, and honoring the vibrant lives of those who call our center home. Whether you're joining us for a picnic, exploring new activities, or simply enjoying a quiet moment on the patio, we’re so glad you’re here. Let’s make this month full of laughter, learning, and friendship. Read on to see what’s in store! Here are a few upcoming events to look forward to: Ukulele JamFest – June 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, @ 6:00PM – 8:00PM Pop in for some singing and great fellowship at the Ukulele JamFest every Monday night (except for the 26th). Anchorage Thrift Trip - June 5th @ 10:30AM Thrift Store Shopping is BACK on Thursdays and going to Anchorage! Join CERSC as we head to town for our monthly thrift store run. Laughter and fun is always our main goal! Bingo Extravaganza! Adult Day Services - June 9th @ 1:30PM Get ready for a fantastic afternoon of fun and games at either of our FREE Bingo event on June 9th hosted by the Eagle River Sleeping Lady Mountain Lions Club. Deadline to RSVP for July Portage Glacier Trip We must provide a full list of folks who are attending the July Portage Glacier Trip by June 12th. Please RSVP to the office with your name, birthday, and contact info by noon on June 12th! Chugiak Chinooks Baseball - Thursday, June 12th & Tuesday, June 17th @ 5:30PM Ready for America’s past time?? The Chugiak Chinooks are a local baseball team just around the corner from the Center. Recycle Sale - June 13th @ 9:30AM Join us for a fun outing down the road to the United Methodists Community Recycle Sale event hosted every month! You set your own prices and there are absolutely deals to be had, don’t miss out! Summer Ice Cream Social - June 20th @ 1:15PM Ready to kick off the first official day of summer with some cool treats and great company? Hang around after lunch for the festivities! If it’s raining, we will have the event inside. Valley Thrift Trip - June 26th @ 10:30AM Love thrift store shopping but prefer the Valley over the big city? Well we have you covered! Join us as we head to the valley for a thrift store run with all the classic stops!
